Indian house boat river

Arcylic on canvas 16" X 20"
This was inspired by samit and Whitney's trip to India. The picture Samit took on the river is art all by itself. I could do little to improve the impact the picture had. For me it was an excercise in distance made by layering planes of water and trees while still maintaing the intergrity of the picture and detail. I also just love an orange sunset and sometimes painting it makes me feel like I was there myself. Sold

Sinagapore Building Facad

Singapore facade
Acrylic on Canvas
This one was for Lia. This painting is a facade of building in Singapore. I think Matt took it. I just really liked how the lamp post stood out from the building. I know normally it is not very interesting in the artistic sense to paint a flat side with little or no dimension, but I just really had fun with the texture of the wall. It just had to be one of those things I had to do. This is a late post. I forgot to post this after I had done it.  Sold

Destin Dock

 Bay Area Destin
16X20 Acrylic on canvas. This is the first painting since I got the lasik done. I started it to work out some problems in the other painting " Trey's Dock in Destin" . I had just reached the drawing stage and went right on to paining without finishing it. It is smaller, but some how to me has the same kind of impact as the larger one. The only reason I finished this one was because so many people liked the other one and because a certain person, who was married in Destin, gave me inspiration to finish it. Sold

Savanah River Lamp Light

This Was from a picture courtesy Of Matt Pitts. 16 X 20 acrylic on canvas. When you look at this painting you may be thinking I was interested in the lamp light. Because most of you know I have done alot of these in the past. What I was most interested in was twilight. It is neither dark nor day and the lamp is neither providing the light or is it dim. Everything seemed to be "inbetween" at this moment. I especially like the water in river as it reflects the twilight and is not the actual color of the river, but a reflection of it. This painting was problomatic and yet alot fun for me. I hope you enjoy. David Pitts  For Sale

Jelly Fish

Acrylic on canvas measuring 24" X 30".  This is from a picture I took at the Atlanta aquarium. Inspired by my son's fascination with spongebob square pants and his jellyfishing.  Unfortunately I just did this today, the paint is still wet , and it is raining outside; so I could not take a picture in the sun. The colors really pop out in the right light.  I will take a better photo later and post it to my website http://dbpitts.googlepages.com  I hope you all enjoy this one. Sold

Smokey Mountains Gatlinberg Tennessee

This is a 24" X 18 " acyclic on canvas painting.  The scene is from the smokey mountains near Gatlinberg Tennessee. my daughter loved this spot. You could feel the air was nice and cool when the wind blew ac cross the water.  It was pretty high up there in the mountain. There was almost a 5 degree temperature difference from the bottom to the top.  The trail was one of those scenic drives that you could drive up to certain locations and then hike a little to nice spots. At the bottom of the mountain and the end trail was a little  shop where they made their own honey and had a few antiques and hand made items. I think they also had some rustic cabins you could stay in for overnight visits.

Tallulah Gorge

This is a 16" x 20" Acrylic on canvas painting of Tallulah Gorge. This painting was made for Samit Whitney to celebrate their engagement and soon to be wedding. This location is where Samit proposed to Whitney. This painting is a reflection of our love for them and for the love they have for each other. May god bless you both.  David, Rachna, Raven, and Lucas  Sold
