I think I will just quote what she said about the moment she took the picture.  "Stopped to enjoy this field & snap a photo...reminds me of the line from the book/movie, The Color Purple: "I think it piss God if when you walk by the color purple and don't notice..." -Shug Avery was the character. St. Augustine lighthouse. 16" X 20"  Acrylic on pre-stretched canvas. From a picture Rachna Pitts took.   What can I say, sometimes it just feels good when I paint a light house.   My challenge for this was the direction of the original light was not exactly where we wanted it when she took the picture.   Sometimes it helps when someone knows what I am looking for in a picture. Acrylic on pre- stretched canvas. 16" x 20".   From a Picture Rachna took while were vacationing in St. Augustine.   I was looking to capture that moment when you first get to the beach and realize you are actually there.  A kind of wonder and amazement that we all feel every time you go to the beach.  Kinda like visiting an old friend. Amicalola Falls. 16' x 20 "  Acrylic on pre-stretched canvas. From a picture that Suzanne Saunders took while hiking with my brothers and posted of fb.    I am not sure what section of the falls this is.  All I can say about this is I just had a lot fun with it.   It was a bit of a challenge to create a sense of depth using color as a good bit of Georgia in the woods tends to be a lot of the same kinds of green and brown. Mountain Cactus. 16" x 20 " Acrylic on pre-stretched canvas.  This was from a picture that came to me by my friend Matt Barkman.  I think it from a picture that a friend of his posted on facebook. I can't tell you exactly where it is yet, but maybe Matt will leave a comment about the location and who took the picture.  It was a lot of fun to paint.   I think if I got to see it personally, I would probably sit there a long time. Backyard Stream, Acrylic on pre-stretched canvas.  16" X 20 " .  Thank you Kim  Legrand for letting me use the photo.  This view comes from Her brother David Waid's backyard.  Already a incredible picture before I got a hold of it.  I must admit I have a little difficulty in letting this one go. I really just enjoy looking at this painting. There is a kind of gentle serenity when I look at it.  It was a real challenge to create the different planes to make you feel the water moving and make some distance without it getting "too busy".
